We all know that uber-sophisticated sweet tooth; the one who always has the best cafe recommendations and is meticulous when it comes to their baking, from the ingredients they choose to the equipment they use. Maybe you’re that person.

If you are – or you’re looking for a day of pure decadence to spoil them with – the QVB is calling. A treasure trove of indulgent delights waiting to be discovered – complete with stunning architecture and a blend of high-end boutiques – the QVB offers an unparalleled experience for anyone who appreciates the finer things in life. Whether you're a connoisseur of the sweetest treats or searching for the perfect gift to satisfy a discerning palate, this itinerary promises a journey of opulence and flavour that will make it unforgettable.

10.30 am

Begin your day with a coffee and a small injection of sweetness from La Belle Miette – which translates literally to small beautiful thing. The french patisserie specialises in macarons, those melt-in-your-mouth pastel-hued almond biscuits that feel quintessentially Parisian. You

can’t go past the classics, but they’re also famous for unique flavours such as cherry blossom, sake, and ginger and macadamia – which are a great gift to bring home.

11 am

Now that you’ve got a bit of sweet sustenance to keep you going, it’s time for some retail therapy. Gewurzhaus is a baker’s mecca – full of unique, hard-to-track-down spices and special ingredients to stock up on. Don’t miss Misty's Salted Caramel (the perfect topping for ice creams, desserts or to eat straight from the jar), Apple Cake Spice and Vanilla Bean Sugar.

11.30 am

It’s time to truly indulge, you’ve earned it. Head to Cicchetti Wine and order the High Tea Deluxe for Two, complete with a selection of cakes, finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones and a glass of champagne. Served on a luxurious tiered cake stand, slowly work your way up the tower and enjoy taking in the glittering glory of the QVB while you’re at it.

12.45 am

Inspired by your tea-time treats? Head to Victoria’s Basement for an impressive selection of baking essentials and tools, as well as stands, platters and sets so you can host your very own high tea at home.

2 pm

Complete your sweet escapade with a visit to Haigh’s Chocolates. The iconic chocolatier is renowned for its artisanal creations, and iconic forms, notably their giant chocolate frogs. Make sure to pick up a pack of peppermint pastilles and anything else that appeals before riding your sugar high all the way home.
