The artist behind ‘The 2020 Tree’ Gerwyn Davies explores work through self-presentation. His artwork adorns his body through textured costuming, exploring the aesthetics of Camp.

The 2020 Tree’ is the first time @ger.wyn extends his work to a large-scale format upon a 24-metre tower of neon sculptural ornaments transformed from everyday items.

Responding to 2020 and the idea of making something magical from our collective mess, @ger.wyn creates nimble and resourceful art pieces out of unassuming icons of the Australian suburban landscape. Reawakening them from their monotony, objects are distorted and warped, playfully modifying the all too familiar to create sculptures and ornaments that glisten, shimmer and shine.
